An Art Photo.
Unable to actually operate my camera
and having never bothered to read the operating instructions, I attempted
to turn off the manual setting and set my own shutter speed. I thought
maybe if I held my breath, I could leave the shutter open for a long time
(almost 1. sec) and get a shot of those headlights making tracers down
the street. I couldn't. But this one at least came out readable.
At some point I realized that instead
of being in the show, schmoozing with the crowd selling all those paintings,
I was standing out in the alley alone thinking about digital photography
and wondering at what point in the evening it would be acceptable to go
home and eat cookies.
So I left the party without a word. If
anyone asks though I'll say that I had to go pick up someone who didn't
have a car and really wanted to see the show, then the truck broke down,
and while I was trying to fix it a cop came up and falsely arrested me
for possesion of marijuana even though it was just brownie crumbs wrapped
in celophane and I spent the night in jail.
